<br /><p align="center">My good friend from Kentucky had a <span style="font-size:180%;">sweet</span> baby girl a few months ago. She asked me to make some shoes for her and I of course couldn't deny that request. Here are the shoes I made for her. She loved the <span style="font-size:180%;">ruffle</span> shoes I had made awhile ago so I made her a pair of those but I could stop there. I had to make the black and <span style="font-size:180%;">purple</span> shoes too. I thought it would be super cute to add the flower to the side of the shoe. Hopefully she does too. Oh, and the <span style="font-size:180%;">flower clips</span> were just a little bonus gift for being such a great friend! <span style="font-size:180%;">:)</span> </p>

So..... I whipped a few of these crocheted headbands/earmuffs up for them. I finished the last stitch as we were pulling up to the location. <span style="font-size:85%;">Talk about calling it close!!:) </span></div><div align="center">I was surprised how well they worked and how easy they were to make. I first started out making the headband itself. I stitched 2 sc <span style="font-size:78%;">(single crochets)</span> and then added one to each row until I got the width I liked. I then stayed at that width until it was long enough to go around my daughters ears and then tapered back down to the 2 sc. I added a button at the end of one side to clasp the headband together. After that I found a crochet flower pattern online <span style="font-size:85%;">(There are a lot out there so choose your favorite).</span> Then I added some gathered fabric and a button to add some character and before I new it I had two headbands/earmuffs finished and ready to go. </div></div></div></div></div></div>Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05735369927635052862noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3751008377650603824.post-13168995955563403342011-02-22T20:38:00.000-08:002011-02-23T09:06:47.744-08:00Ava by Modkid......Finally Finnished<div align="center">I bought this pattern (<a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/62651316/ava-pattern-by-patty-young-for-modkid">Ava by Modkid</a>) back in October and I couldn't wait to make it. Sadly it has taken me this long to get around to finishing it but it was really fun to do. I used <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/58972964/michael-miller-fabric-duo-sasha-toffee">Michael Millers duo sasha toffee floral and teal dumb dot.<br /></div></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-easdRXgtdnk/TWSPylIZIMI/AAAAAAAABpc/0sDPQ6H3vMY/s1600/Lina%2Bshirt%2Bfront.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 266px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5576740337715060930" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-easdRXgtdnk/TWSPylIZIMI/AAAAAAAABpc/0sDPQ6H3vMY/s400/Lina%2Bshirt%2Bfront.jpg" /></a><br /><div align="center">It's still cold here in Utah so I put a long sleeve white shirt under it. Then paired it with dark skinny jeans and black flats.</div><div align="center"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uOu2DzR8BGI/TWSPySpihkI/AAAAAAAABpU/SMbmVXY5qu8/s1600/Lina%2Bshirt.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 291px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5576740332753815106" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uOu2DzR8BGI/TWSPySpihkI/AAAAAAAABpU/SMbmVXY5qu8/s400/Lina%2Bshirt.jpg" /></a> Oh, add no outfit is complete without a bow. Am I right? :) So, luckily I had the perfect orange flower (given to me by a dear friend) that I was able to add a few crystals and an alligator clip too. I had a ton of silk fabric that needed some attention. So I ended up spending the whole weekend making flower clips and headbands with it. There are sooo many possibilities that can be done with this fabric. I could have spent the whole week making more but my fingers got too tired:). Here are just a few of my recent creations. I think my favorite are the silk flowers with the pearls in the middle. They are much prettier in person. These pictures don't do them justice.<br /><div><br /><div><div><div><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBrfra3XWI/AAAAAAAABj8/oQsdGJ2_GB8/s1600/DSC_0488.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 133px; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566567331405454690" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBrfra3XWI/AAAAAAAABj8/oQsdGJ2_GB8/s200/DSC_0488.JPG" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBrgA0JubI/AAAAAAAABkE/8EbZpBpXmwU/s1600/DSC_0490.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 133px; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566567337148660146" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBrgA0JubI/AAAAAAAABkE/8EbZpBpXmwU/s200/DSC_0490.JPG" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBqM2m4yqI/AAAAAAAABjs/RqHnnSno4dw/s1600/DSC_0487.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 133px; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566565908479527586" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBqM2m4yqI/AAAAAAAABjs/RqHnnSno4dw/s200/DSC_0487.JPG" /></a><br /><div><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBqMvP7xXI/AAAAAAAABjk/A6zzoAoVJc0/s1600/DSC_0485.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 133px; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566565906504205682" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBqMvP7xXI/AAAAAAAABjk/A6zzoAoVJc0/s200/DSC_0485.JPG" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBsM4We2NI/AAAAAAAABkc/LUWur6P0PjU/s1600/DSC_0489.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 133px; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566568107970844882" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBsM4We2NI/AAAAAAAABkc/LUWur6P0PjU/s200/DSC_0489.JPG" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBqMDgxvwI/AAAAAAAABjc/b3j6QJPLrmE/s1600/DSC_0484.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 133px; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566565894763691778" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBqMDgxvwI/AAAAAAAABjc/b3j6QJPLrmE/s200/DSC_0484.JPG" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBqL0JtpGI/AAAAAAAABjU/_miRcdF5NBk/s1600/DSC_0510.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 200px; HEIGHT: 133px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566565890640421986" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBqL0JtpGI/AAAAAAAABjU/_miRcdF5NBk/s200/DSC_0510.JPG" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBqLTXHY0I/AAAAAAAABjM/LHszHwquVv4/s1600/DSC_0512.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 200px; HEIGHT: 133px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566565881838265154" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBqLTXHY0I/AAAAAAAABjM/LHszHwquVv4/s200/DSC_0512.JPG" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBrgTZagWI/AAAAAAAABkM/DNac_bhHdwA/s1600/DSC_0513.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 200px; HEIGHT: 133px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566567342136787298" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBrgTZagWI/AAAAAAAABkM/DNac_bhHdwA/s200/DSC_0513.JPG" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBsNMCJUzI/AAAAAAAABkk/P-MQKMuwF-A/s1600/DSC_0514.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 200px; HEIGHT: 133px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566568113254257458" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TUBsNMCJUzI/AAAAAAAABkk/P-MQKMuwF-A/s200/DSC_0514.JPG" /></a><br /><div><div><div><div><div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05735369927635052862noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3751008377650603824.post-6971150876943960172011-01-05T13:52:00.000-08:002011-02-14T17:00:22.855-08:00"Made by Rae" Hand Purse<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TSTo2Lw-QaI/AAAAAAAABjE/isZjb0BjOII/s1600/purse.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 266px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5558823857650811298" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TSTo2Lw-QaI/AAAAAAAABjE/isZjb0BjOII/s400/purse.jpg" /></a><br />What a fun and super cute hand purse!! This purse is great to make if all you have is some fat quarters and a little bit of time. I love the pleating and the small details this purse has to offer. I got the pattern from Made By Rae, <a href="http://www.made-by-rae.com/2009/02/free-buttercup-bag-sewing-pattern.html">HERE</a>. Check out her blog. It's a great place to get inspired! The project that has taken me <span style="font-size:180%;">ALL</span> month to make. I'm not kidding.... I started the end of Nov. and finished it one day before Christmas! <span style="font-size:85%;">(I know, I was cutting it close!)</span> :) The minute I found this <span style="font-size:130%;">adorable </span>kitchen on Knock-off wood.com I knew I had to make it for my girls. The only problem... I've never created something out of wood before... ever! Luckily I have a dad who has built a few things before :) So, I recruited his help with buying the wood, cutting the wood and putting it all together. The rest was up to me. I loved the look of the kitchen that was featured on Knock-off wood.com so I used her kitchen as my inspiration. I used Amy Butler Love to make the curtain, hot pad and hand towel. After I had it all painted I sanded and stained the edges to give it more of an antique look and then added the accessories that I bought from IKEA and Hobby Lobby. I had an absolute blast making this. I had a hard time sleeping Christmas Eve because I couldn't wait to see my girls reaction to their new kitchen on Christmas morning. <span style="font-size:85%;">(BTW.... they<span style="font-size:130%;"><em> </em><strong>loved</strong></span> it!)</span></div><div align="center">If you want the websites I used check them out<br /><span style="color:#660000;"><a href="http://thecraftingchicks.com/2010/04/giveaway-2-custom-photo-backdrop-ana-from-knock-off-wood-my-latest-project.html"><em><span style="font-size:180%;">Here</span></em></a><span style="font-size:180%;"> and <a href="http://ana-white.com/2010/11/inspiring-play-kitchens-and-a-smaller-fridge.html"><em>Here<br /></em></a><br /></span></span></div></div></div></div></div>Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05735369927635052862noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3751008377650603824.post-75433699322369566182010-12-17T10:13:00.000-08:002010-12-17T10:37:36.728-08:00Christmas gifts for the neighbors<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TQutOWIUEPI/AAAAAAAABhQ/vNDIXZmKb8Q/s1600/almond%2Bplate.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5551721427634491634" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TQutOWIUEPI/AAAAAAAABhQ/vNDIXZmKb8Q/s400/almond%2Bplate.jpg" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TQutN5vp1wI/AAAAAAAABhI/dXe1tKGXA0Q/s1600/almonds.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 266px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5551721420014868226" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TQutN5vp1wI/AAAAAAAABhI/dXe1tKGXA0Q/s400/almonds.jpg" /></a> <div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:180%;color:#663300;">Roasted <span style="font-size:85%;">(super fattening, irresistible)</span> Almonds</span></div><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-size:180%;color:#663300;"></span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;color:#000000;">1 tsp cold water</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;color:#000000;">1 egg white</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;color:#000000;">1 tsp Vanilla</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;color:#000000;">1/2 C Brown Sugar</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;"><span style="color:#000000;">1 tsp cinnamon</span></span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;color:#000000;">1/3 C melted butter</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;color:#000000;">1/2 C white sugar</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;color:#000000;">1/4 tsp salt</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;color:#000000;">1 lbs Almonds</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;color:#000000;"></span></div><div align="center"><span style="color:#000000;">Stir egg white and cold water together until fluffed. After I bought it I realized that I needed a cover for it so instead of spending $50 on one already made I took my scrap fabric and made this one. I used the great tutorial from The Sometimes Crafter <span style="font-size:180%;color:#990000;"><a href="http://sometimescrafter.blogspot.com/2009/09/tutorial-patchwork-kindle-case.html">Here</a></span> to help me. But when I saw the $40 price I decided that I would make them instead:) So, I found this tutorial</span> <a href="http://www.marthastewart.com/article/black-apple-doll"><span style="font-size:180%;color:#33cc00;">Here</span></a><span style="color:#000000;"><a href="http://www.marthastewart.com/article/black-apple-doll"> </a>and thought I would give it a try. They were so fun to make and after the girls giggled a little at them they have not put them down. I added little piggie tails to the pattern but copied the rest. </span></span><br /><span style="color:#999900;"><span style="color:#000000;"></span></span><br /><a href="http://www.marthastewart.com/article/black-apple-doll"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 266px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5545775554362771410" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TPaNe-HWh9I/AAAAAAAABgo/M2ZGK-kXKAE/s400/dolls.jpg" /></a> <div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TPaNeJMGZQI/AAAAAAAABgg/1yNpwwIlfNI/s1600/doll%2Bface.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 266px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5545775540155606274" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TPaNeJMGZQI/AAAAAAAABgg/1yNpwwIlfNI/s400/doll%2Bface.jpg" /></a></div><div>Don't laugh at my paint job:) he he...... When else can you put spiders on a cupcake and have it be sooo CUTE?<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 266px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5534267932203400930" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TM2rXM7RvuI/AAAAAAAABf4/SNBp44lWSI0/s400/cupcakes.jpg" /></div><p align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">Decorated with only a Ziploc bag and colored frosting. These pumpkin cupcakes turned out to be a great party dessert for Halloween.</span></p><p>I'm in dire need of some good cupcake decorating bags, but for now a Ziploc baggie seems to be doing the trick. Before I filled the Ziploc with the icing I cut a little hole in the corner. The hole was a little big for the orange icing and super small for the black icing. Once the frosting was in the bag I slowly squeezed the frosting out to create the look I wanted. </p><p align="center"><span style="font-size:180%;">Super easy, very cheap and sooo cute! </span></p><p>This was the first time I have ever made cupcakes that didn't sink in the middle:) I was told by a dear friend that if the oven is set at a lower temperature then the cupcakes they will not sink. I'm far from being a professional photographer but I do enjoy playing around with my camera and if I'm lucky:).... sometimes I get some cool shots. So to actually do a real photo shoot for someone was a bit nerve racking. Luckily afters some patience and <span style="font-size:130%;">a lot</span> of pictures I was able to get these shots (oh, and I can't forget to mention that Photoshop helped a ton!!). The top pictures my favorite but the others are really close behind it. Isn't she just the sweetest little baby? It was really fun to do this shoot and I hope that my friend likes them.</div></div>Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05735369927635052862noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3751008377650603824.post-68304274858089148942010-07-20T13:39:00.001-07:002011-10-12T10:14:06.910-07:00Scripture Tote Tutorial II<div align="center"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 266px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5496091319046035202" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TEYJ72TY1wI/AAAAAAAABO0/QP3WI9dRUoQ/s400/scripture+tote.jpg" /> Remember this? Luckily my good friend Katie (from <span style="font-size:130%;"><a href="http://www.miamoodesigns.blogspot.com/">Mia Moo Designs</a>)</span> went to the states recently and was able to find some mossy green felt for me at Joann's. I thought it would be a fairly easy thing to do considering that I've made tutu's before. It wasn't until I started making them that I realized this was going to be a bit of a challenge. Because they are so full it was<span style="font-size:130%;"> hard</span> to get all the fabric to line up right and the satin sash showed every mistake I made. But, I finally figured out how to make it work and I <span style="font-size:180%;">love </span>how they turned out. </div><br /><div align="center"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TCto6cc_KWI/AAAAAAAABOU/QDNgxwrdv7k/s1600/wedding+tutu.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 266px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5488595924160555362" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TCto6cc_KWI/AAAAAAAABOU/QDNgxwrdv7k/s400/wedding+tutu.jpg" /></a> I didn't make the big flower on the front. My friend bought it at <span style="font-size:130%;">Forever 21</span>. She wanted me to design the tutu's around it. I used three different colors of tulle to get the right color of <span style="font-size:180%;">Ivory</span>- <span style="font-size:130%;">white, cream and beige</span>. I used <span style="font-size:180%;">4 </span>layers of white, <span style="font-size:180%;">4</span> layers of cream and<span style="font-size:180%;"> one</span> layer of the beige.</div><div align="center"><br /><div align="center"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TCto51FlGSI/AAAAAAAABOM/PuS3eZ4gEdc/s1600/wedding+tutu+front.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 266px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5488595913593395490" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TCto51FlGSI/AAAAAAAABOM/PuS3eZ4gEdc/s400/wedding+tutu+front.jpg" /></a> I used two <span style="font-size:130%;">big</span> hook and eye clasps to close up the tutu. Then covered the stitching with the little <span style="font-size:130%;">"YO YO's"</span> to give it a finished look.<br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TCto5DTXIAI/AAAAAAAABOE/vIvJ3x_PyeU/s1600/wedding+tutu+back.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 266px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5488595900229427202" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TCto5DTXIAI/AAAAAAAABOE/vIvJ3x_PyeU/s400/wedding+tutu+back.jpg" /></a> I used this website<a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/69955202/glimmer-grey-tutu-and-blush-pink-rose"><span style="font-size:130%;"> (HERE)</span></a> for my inspiration with this tutu.<br /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;">This tutu measures 24 1/2 inches around the waist and 30 inches from waist to floor.</span><br /></div></div></div>Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05735369927635052862noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3751008377650603824.post-67843686110180677962010-06-28T15:19:00.000-07:002010-06-28T19:38:06.779-07:00My first felt flower<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TCkhqozmCqI/AAAAAAAABLk/2YrY9PdjnJc/s1600/Felt+flower+hair+clip.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 260px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5487954637319703202" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TCkhqozmCqI/AAAAAAAABLk/2YrY9PdjnJc/s400/Felt+flower+hair+clip.jpg" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TCkgP5K5myI/AAAAAAAABLU/_QsnltWJmPw/s1600/Felt+flower.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 266px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5487953078344325922" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TCkgP5K5myI/AAAAAAAABLU/_QsnltWJmPw/s400/Felt+flower.jpg" /></a> I keep seeing these super cute felt flowers out there and had to try one for myself. I don't know exactly what I did to get this look, I know I did a lot of folding and hand stitching:). Anyway, I really like how it turned out and the girls love it! I a huge sucker for flower bows and I'm excited to add this to the girls collection. I can't wait to make more. If you know of any felt flower tutorials out there let me know I would love to make different styles.Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05735369927635052862noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3751008377650603824.post-85130349742645682622010-06-23T11:21:00.000-07:002010-06-23T15:13:34.507-07:00Doll Dress<span style="font-size:180%;"><span style="color:#993399;">Love</span> </span>the doll but not her dress<span style="color:#330033;"><span style="font-size:180%;">???</span> </span>No problem... just make her a new one<span style="font-size:180%;color:#ffcc00;">:)</span>.<br /><br />My girls were invited to a birthday party for their friend, Mia (her mom is Katie from <a href="http://www.miamoodesigns.blogspot.com/"><span style="font-size:180%;">Mia Moo Design</span></a>). Anyway, I found this cute doll at a store near our house but she needed a little bit more style. So, to accomplish this I made her a dress out of some scrap fabric that I had at the house, which happened to match a dress Mia's mom made her (check out her dress <span style="font-size:180%;"><a href="http://miamoodesigns.blogspot.com/2010/01/my-first-dress.html">here</a></span>). I added a few hair clips and a neclace to add to the present. Here's how it turned out.<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TCJadTTuhBI/AAAAAAAABLE/0EVrUI7sZl4/s1600/Mia+with+doll.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 400px; HEIGHT: 388px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5486046755536405522" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_q3UWuI9UTD4/TCJadTTuhBI/AAAAAAAABLE/0EVrUI7sZl4/s400/Mia+with+doll.jpg" /></a><br /><div>I think she liked it! <span style="font-size:180%;color:#ffcc00;">:)</span> </div><div>(Don't you just love Mia's dress? I used Sculpty clay for the bottom of the cupcake and the frosting. After I cooked it I added some sparkle to the frosting with nail polish, and sprayed it with a high gloss craft spray. (This space can be on the back or in the inseam of leg, you decide where you want it. If you are adding a rattle your best spot for the hole will be the back). Turn fabric over and make sure seam has caught all of fabric. Clip notches around <span style="font-size:130%;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-size:180%;">all</span> </span></span>the curves (nose, legs, ear, neck, inside legs, etc). I like to do a little bit of rice and stuffing together (I like how it makes it feel, soft and squishy). If you are going to add a rattle this is where you will add that in. Luckily I only have two girls in the program <em>so I can spoil them a little bit. :)</em> I came across this blog<span style="font-size:180%;"> </span><a href="http://itsagirlthing1.blogspot.com/2009/09/scripture-toteanyone.html"><span style="font-size:180%;color:#330033;">{It's a Girl Thing!!}</span></a>. I loved how her totes turned out. So I took her idea and <span style="font-size:130%;color:#330033;"><em>expanded</em></span> on it. ( Go <a href="http://genevascreations.blogspot.com/2007/12/scripture-tote-bag-instructions.html"><span style="font-size:130%;color:#33cc00;">HERE</span></a> for the tutorial.) I wanted to make sure that the tote was lined and had a place for a pen and the <a href="http://www.lds.org/pa/display/0,17884,6821-1,00.html">Personal Progress book</a>. So I used the placemat for the lining and added a pocket on the inside. Instead of using ribbon for the handles I used coordinating fabric that was lined with canvas to give strength. I also added the belt loops and a tie to add some character. I can't wait to give the girls their totes!</div><div>Want a step by step tutorial on how I did my scripture tote? Leave me a message saying so and I'll see what I can do! :)</div>Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05735369927635052862noreply@blogger.com5
