Newborn Props

Aren't these the sweetest pictures? Once again 2G Photography has pulled through for me with photographing my crochet hats in such a beautiful way. I keep trying to decide which picture is my favorite but I can't make up my mind. The very first one in the pot is so gorgeous, the little lion shots are too adorable and the pink teddy bear pictures are just super sweet. I would love to hear what your favorite is.

Leave me a comment! :)

I love how newborn pictures are becoming so popular. Little ones don't stay little for very long but with pictures like these the memory of their tiny features will last forever. Check out 2G Photography for more amazing pictures.

Sweet Baby Shoes

My good friend from Kentucky had a sweet baby girl a few months ago. She asked me to make some shoes for her and I of course couldn't deny that request. Here are the shoes I made for her. She loved the ruffle shoes I had made awhile ago so I made her a pair of those but I could stop there. I had to make the black and purple shoes too. I thought it would be super cute to add the flower to the side of the shoe. Hopefully she does too. Oh, and the flower clips were just a little bonus gift for being such a great friend! :)

(I switched computers recently and haven't updated all my software yet so I don't have my watermark on the pictures because of that. Hopefully I can find some time to get that fixed before I post again.)

Newborn Crochet Hats

It's been awhile Ladies! I haven't posted since May! That's way too long to go between posts. I must do better. I've had a busy couple months and am just now feeling like I'm on top of things so I thought I would post of few of my latest creations.

My bestest friend is a super talented photographer. She's been my family photographer for years and has taken some beautiful pictures 4 me. Her website is 2gphotography.blogspot.com check her out if you have a minute. You won't regret it:).

Anyway.... she asked me about a month ago to make her some crochet hats for her newborn shots and of course I agreed. Here are of few pictures she has taken with them. I've made her elf hats, Teddy bear hats, ear flap hats, little green hats that look like peas, a frog hat and at the moment I'm working on a lion hat. I'll post them as she takes more pictures. She just got done taking pictures of twins and I'm excited to see how they turned out. Another thing that I have been working on is this tree. My sister-in-law asked if I would paint a cherry tree in her daughters nursery. It took me a few days and a good 10 hours to do but I love the way it turned out.

Baby Shoes

Thank goodness for other bloggers out there who are willing to share their ideas and tutorials. I was invited to a shower last night and knew I wanted to make some cute red shoes. My only problem was that I had never made baby shoes before and I didn't even know where to begin. Luckily I came across Fleeting Thing.com and spotted her mila baby shoe tutorial. I fell in love with these shoes the minute I saw them. I absolutely loved the little ruffles. It only took me a few hours to get these finished and I love the way they turned out. They were a huge hit at the baby shower too:)

I did change a few things to give it more of a finished look. I covered the elastic with the same fabric I used for the main part of the shoe and I also hide the side seam inside the sole of the shoe instead of using the serger.

Thanks Fleeting Thing! I loved your tutorial.

Favorite necklace

I made this necklace for my girls about a month ago and have just been able to get around to posting it. They love this new necklace. It's super girly, very light and so stylin.

I've made cupcake necklaces before but instead of the chain with a few beads the whole necklace was beaded. The girls never liked to wear it because it was too heavy.

That's not the case with this necklace. They would wear it everyday if I let them:)

I used pink and brown clay to create the cupcake and bought all the beads and the chain at Hobby Lobby (my Favorite store!!).

I have a bunch of these made up if your interested in having one for your little girl.

Just let me know. I would love to hook you up with one.

Crochet headband/ earmuffs

We went snowmobiling the other day and the day before we left I realized that my girls needed something to keep their ears warm. So..... I whipped a few of these crocheted headbands/earmuffs up for them. I finished the last stitch as we were pulling up to the location. Talk about calling it close!!:)
I was surprised how well they worked and how easy they were to make. I first started out making the headband itself. I stitched 2 sc (single crochets) and then added one to each row until I got the width I liked. I then stayed at that width until it was long enough to go around my daughters ears and then tapered back down to the 2 sc. I added a button at the end of one side to clasp the headband together. After that I found a crochet flower pattern online (There are a lot out there so choose your favorite). Then I added some gathered fabric and a button to add some character and before I new it I had two headbands/earmuffs finished and ready to go.

Ava by Modkid......Finally Finnished

I bought this pattern (Ava by Modkid) back in October and I couldn't wait to make it. Sadly it has taken me this long to get around to finishing it but it was really fun to do. I used Michael Millers duo sasha toffee floral and teal dumb dot.

It's still cold here in Utah so I put a long sleeve white shirt under it. Then paired it with dark skinny jeans and black flats.
Oh, add no outfit is complete without a bow. Am I right? :) So, luckily I had the perfect orange flower (given to me by a dear friend) that I was able to add a few crystals and an alligator clip too. Helping to make a great finished look.

Fancy Key

Here is a simple way to add some *BLING* to your key ring without a whole lot of trouble.
It's also a great way to add a little bit of personality to your favorite key.

Start out with a plain and boring key.
Get out your favorite color of swarovski crystals (s20) and your GOOP glue.

Add a little bit of glue to each crystal using a pin.
Place the crystals where you want it on the key and let dry for 4-6 hours.

It doesn't get much easier than that!

Birthday Party

My daughter just turned 4 yesterday! Here are a few pictures from the birthday party.

The BEST cake in the world.... Red Velvet (made from a box:)) with almond butter whipped cream frosting......... sooo yummy!!
Want the recipe? Click HERE I added just a little bit of powdered sugar to make it a little thicker and to give it a sweeter taste.
Oh, and I also filled the cupcakes with 1 1/2 C marshmallow creme and 1/2 C butter that was blended together.
So good you'll want two!!
Cupcakes are topped with Strawberry Whoppers.

Surprisingly all these decorations only cost me $10!! Crazy I know! It helped that I had most of the supplies already. The only thing I had to buy was paper for the hanging chandelier.
The pom poms where made from tissue paper (left over from Christmas), I used my friends Cricut machine (which I'm in love with and I ended up buying one for my self:)) to cut all the letters for the banner, and the party favors (crayon cozys) were used from my stash of felt and ribbon down in my basement. These were time consuming projects but super fun to make.
Want the tutorial on how to make the crayon cozys check it out HERE or HERE!

The birthday girl, her sweet sister and her adorable cousins enjoying the yummy cupcakes.
